Full Stack Java developer

Java developer – Full Stack, Java, Spring, React, AWS, DevOps, CI/CD – Remote

To join an established and growing, Health tech business based in London. The role is a remote position and will involve the development of new web applications and features to their existing product suite as the demand from their clients grow for more innovative and data rich additions.

It has been an exciting time for the business as they are expanding into new markets and territories with their 3 different platforms. As the Java react developer, you will be working in a fast paced, agile environment remotely, you will report directly to the Head of IT and have a large remit of tasks ranging from mentoring, incident management to the inception of new products. All of which will be time critical projects.

Responsibilities include:

• Experienced in developing full stack greenfield applications from inception to development and deployment – using Java and React
• Experienced in using AWS – EC2, S3, Redshift
• Investigating, owning, and resolving incidents raise by internal and external clients
• Data engineering/ETL scripts
• Developer operations, including infrastructure setup, maintenance, and software releases
• Working alongside the test team to make sure they understand the applications being developed enabling them to carry out full regression testing
• Ensuring any development work meets the defined business requirements
• Implementing best engineering practice
• Interacting and working with the internal analyst team, product team and sales team as required on any given projects
• Explain and document technical issues to non-technical staff to ensure they understand each development

 

The key technologies in the business and for this role are :

• Java and Spring
• REST APi’s
• React and Typescript
• TDD  (JUnit, ScalaTest, Cucumber, WebDrive)
• Knowledge and experience of object orientated programming and associated concepts.
• Knowledge and experience of a wide range of best of breed open source and commercial technologies
• Good understanding of databases and related concepts.
• DevOps provisioning and CI/CD

Other areas you will be exposed to are:

• Jenkins
• Redshift, MariaDB
• Bash scripts and Python
• Linux (CentOS) administration/AWS, DevOps, SSH

There is a lot to see , develop and to get to grips with here and it will be a technical challenge for the right candidates, where you can showcase your skills alongside picking up, learning and developing new software to add to your growing capabilities.
