Product Director
Product Director – £100k-£120k
A global health retailer is looking for a Product Director to join and lead a team of 15 in the development and enhancement of their Mobile App.
The successful Product Director will initially have 1x Product Owner reporting into them, though will be instantly involved in the recruitment for 2x Product Manager hires. Currently a team of 15 (including Developers, UX/UI, Growth) the plans over the next 12-18 months will be to almost double that number, meaning this is an exciting time to join the business.
The Product Director will take full ownership of the product strategy, vision, and roadmap, and will work collaboratively with the Head of IT to ensure that the product roadmap aligns with the other key workstreams.
Although the role is predominantly strategically focused, there will be an expectation to be hands-on with the Product Owner and Product Managers (especially while the Product Managers are being recruited). This role would therefore be great for someone with team management/leadership experience in a Product Lead or Head of Product role who is looking for a step up.
As the role is Mobile App focused, it goes without saying that previous experience developing and enhancing a consumer app is essential, and previous retail/ecommerce product leadership experience would be ideal.
Responsibilities:
- Define the Product vision, ensuring a customer-first approach is maintained
- Ensure the product roadmap aligns with the wider business’s vision
- Work collaboratively with Sales, Marketing, and IT, ensuring a high standard of delivery across all mobile apps
- Continuously review and prioritise the backlog and ensure timely and efficient sprints
- Take full responsibility for everything for your product, including marketing, sales, and finances
- Act as the link between the wider business functions and provide seamless cross-functional working
Experience Required
- Previous experience in Product Leadership positions – essential
- Demonstrable experience delivering mobile products – essential
- Experience with leadership positions in global businesses – highly desirable
- Strong knowledge/experience of both Agile & Waterfall methodologies
- Data-driven approach to product management
