Test Engineer

 Test Engineer –  C / C++    £60000

Purpose:

• My Client is looking for a Test Engineer To ensure the compliance with the product / project’s requirements and specifications, through testing.
• To reduce the likelihood of Validation, certification, or in-field failures product through robust and systematic testing.
• To assist in ensuring the development of the products conform to our ISO9001 processes and comply with 3rd party certification requirements.

 

 

Responsible for:

1. Full ownership of the test process including test plans and test cases, from creation to delivery.
2. Writing and disseminating test specifications and test cases in line with the functional requirements specification (FRS) to ensure efficient and robust embedded test coverage including corner case and stress tests.
3. Assisting with the creation of the Functional Requirements Specification (FRS) to ensure requirements are defined in a way that is testable.
4. Validating test cases and streamlining the test process through automation
5. Owning the handover process to the system validation team
6. Preparing test reports for management and contributing to peer reviews
7. Collaborating with the System Validation team to increase understanding and reduce validation cycle iterations thereby assisting to ensure the timely delivery of projects to the agreed timescales.
8. Working with colleagues to ensure the department maintains appropriate levels of quality in their work and processes in accordance with the company’s strategicKey

Essential Qualifications, Key Skills & Experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer science or related degree
2. At least 5 years post-degree experience as a test engineer
3. Familiarity with testing tools such as TestPlant, Labview, Vector Software or similar.
4. Extensive knowledge of engineering and testing procedures.
5. Working knowledge of software programming languages (C and C++, Python or similar)
6. Working understanding of electronics, datasheets, and device capabilities
7. Good problem-solving skills.
8. Ability to project manage.
9. Ability to troubleshoot and think out of the box.
10. High-level technical writing skills.

1. Experience of working on long life battery powered products.
2. Experience of working on safety critical products in regulated environment
3. Experience of working on projects utilising Ultrasonic Products and technologies
4. Experience of external certification processes
5. Experience of working within LCM software, ideally ARAS
